Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop initially employing four individuals. Product sales for their initial year of operation totaled $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and other parts. Within five years of operation, the company had expanded to forty employees and their annual sales volume had increased to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is amongst the top international makers in the material handling business.
Production and design of the company's original hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of better business opportunities. Over the last 60 years, the material handling trade has developed into a highly sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly played a part in this progress. Cascade presently continues to develop as the best provider of lift truck accessories and different associated products. The company feels certain in their ability to be able to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding buyer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive within the international market.
During the 1950's, Cascade started to fabricate, design, and sell its hydraulic attachments. A new facility was constructed in 1956, in order to house all plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which continues to be the company's current head office. Following 15 years of business, total staff reached one hundred eighty employees and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Irving. 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary move into the global world of the material handling industry while the company established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In the year 1964, the business changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in the year 1965, the company went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing services within the continental USA to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Springfield, Irving and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are fabricated worldwide due to many subsidiary operations. In 1994, a new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European headquarters. This plant is designed to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and the year 1997 with the impressive acquisition of 5 corporations, including the global leader in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
